- Fear is good. It’s giving you information. Excluding life endangering fears, most of the other fears get woken up when you are embarking on something important. It’s a good indicator to pay attention and stay committed to what is important to you.
- Brendon Burchard has a great podcast about fear. In short, he says our 3 types of fear are
- Fear of The Loss – you fear losing comfort / familiarity of where you are now.
- Fear of The Process – you fear the pain of change.
- Fear of Outcome – you fear that the grass won’t be greener on the other side.
Great article Vicky - you described me to a "t". Familiarity and the security of knowing what's coming next is how I live. However, I did step out of my comfort zone by starting to workout again with a trainer a few weeks ago - so maybe there is hope for this old girl! Oh and I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that story! I think that is a great step and will train your brain that it's ok to get uncomfortable and that good things can come as a result!
